ASICS Noosa Tri 16 – Fast, Fun and Versatile

The Noosa Tri 16 is a clear step forward from the Tri 15. The FF Blast Plus foam offers a nicer ride, while the updated tongue and upper improve comfort and overall performance. The addition of ASICSGRIP is another welcome upgrade, providing reliable traction across different surfaces.

Born for triathlon, these shoes are also great without socks — perfect for holidays when you fancy an unplanned run.

Lightweight, responsive yet plate less (yes, you can still run fast without a carbon plate!), they shine during speed sessions and fartleks, and work well for distances up to around 16 km. A half marathon? That's where things start getting a little less comfortable. The cushioning is not especially bouncy, but that's not the point: the Noosa is about a direct, lively ride.

And those graphics? Still among the best-looking designs in running.

One final thought for ASICS: looking for a starting point for an HYROX shoe? Build on the Noosa Tri 16. It could handle almost everything — but pushing a sled would definitely call for a more specialised, grippier outsole.

Fast, colourful, versatile, and full of character. What's not to like? They provide a kinda old-school feeling when running, it's easy to get lots of fun with these shoes...even just by looking down while you are at it
