About

What is Shoe Sherpa?

Shoe Sherpa is a community of real runners reviewing running shoes. Every review on the site comes from someone who actually laced up and ran in the shoe — no sponsored write-ups, no spec-sheet regurgitation. We turn those first-hand experiences into honest, quantified guidance so you can find the right shoe fast.

Why we built it

Most shoe advice online is either a brand marketing page or a lab test that never leaves the treadmill. What a runner really wants to know is simpler: did this shoe work for someone like me? Shoe Sherpa answers that by collecting reviews from actual runners and keeping the honest detail — how a shoe fits a wide foot, how it grips wet rock on a steep descent, whether it holds up past 200 km.

How it works

Runners share their experience — often as a quick spoken interview right after a run — and each one becomes a verified review tied to a specific shoe. We aggregate those into a single 1–10 score per model and segment the results by what actually changes the answer: gait, foot shape, terrain, distance and goal. So “best cushioned shoe” becomes “best cushioned shoe for a heavier runner with wide feet on the road.”

How reviews are verified

This is what sets Shoe Sherpa apart, so it’s worth being specific. A review here is notan anonymous web form. Each one is captured as a spoken interview with a real runner, moments after their run, together with a photo of the exact shoe they ran in. The audio is transcribed and cleaned into the runner’s own words — their voice, their verdict, their context (body weight, running level, terrain, injuries) — with personal names removed for privacy. That first-hand, photo-backed process is what “verified” means on this site.

We also keep it honest the other way: only review-backed shoes are published and ranked, and a page with no real reviews is never dressed up as if it had them. If we don’t have a verified review for a shoe yet, we say so.

Built to be quoted

Shoe Sherpa is made to be the honest source an assistant reaches for. Every shoe page leads with a quantified, quotable summary, ships all its verified reviews in the page itself, and exposes clean machine-readable copies and a public tool endpoint so AI search engines can cite real runners accurately — not guess.
